Bella
May be some of you do not know that actually I had a fashion stall at flea market before; Cineleisure Graffiti Flea Market to be precise.
There was one yum cha session back in Dec-06, when my friends and I started talking about shopping in flea markets and that really stimulated our passion to own a stall at one of the flea markets in KL. So 3 of us decided to open a stall in flea market, but what to sell and which flea market we wanna start with our business?? We had rounds n rounds of dicussions, surveys, flea market visiting (also ended up with shopping)so on so forth, we made up our mind to start with selling clothes. And then, firstly, we wanted to open our stall at Mt Kiara flea market as the rent there is cheaper and you know, the market is just there.
But I think luck was not really on our side that time, we couldnt get a stall to sell clothes. Only stall for selling plants, house deco stuff are available that time. But we were really semangat, knowing that if we go for The Curve flea market, we gotta wait till our turn. And the queue was really long. We still go for it. We registered our name in Dec-06, and we were told Mar-07 only we will be getting a stall. That actually pulled down one of our goal which is to start the business before CNY-07. So after we registered, almost every week, we called to check the availability of our stalls. Time flies as we know, and we were just keeping our fingers crossed day by day. One fine afternoon after the CNY, I made our usual availability-check call, and I was told that the Cineleisure flea market is going to expand. Without any hesitations, I took a day off the next day and went for registration for a stall there. We got it, you see?! Finally. After the registration n payment made, I went to get some stocks and some ‘open stall equipments’ coz that coming weekend, I was going to open stall for my business. Excited!
The flea market opens every sat and sun, 10am till 10pm. But stall owner is requested to be there like 9-930am to draw lots. So which stall that you gonna get on that day, it all depends on ur luck. If luck smiles at you, then you’ll get a better stall which is nearer to the main entrance of the Cineleisure. Main entrance to Cineleisure is the door when you step in, there is this Fossil shop on your left, and Genki Sushi will be on your right. A lot of people get confused of the main entrance of Cineleisure I dunno why. And the flea market, is just on the street right in front of the main entrance.
I really like selling clothes. After one hard day of selling, you’ll really feel exhausted physically but your mind will be flying up above the sky . But the satisfaction is just there. You’ll be so happy seeing people buying your clothes, coz this shows that your taste is up to certain standard and someone out there recognise it and appreciate it by buying it. I really put my 200% effort in it. And in return, my return was not that bad. But since I have another cream to catch, and my partner’s going to take care for her house reno, we stopped our business, as of now.
Oh ya, I like being called mini boss ( sih tau poh ) also. It’s like for once, you are the boss and not your boss in workplace is the boss kinda thing. hahaha.
Weekend is coming, and I miss selling at flea market and I miss being called sih tau poh.
And, ya, we named our stall as "Bella".
